Welcome to Atheism

I can't remember when I realized I was an atheist. There was no transforming event or epiphany that brought me to this conclusion. I imagine it was a gradual process from being nonchalant towards religion to understanding that what I knew was in line with atheism.

I was not raised in a religious environment, my parents allowing me to choose whether to attend church and adopt a belief system or not. I had an avid interest in science as I grew up and made my way through the public school system. This translated into pursuing science in college and eventually medical school.
